1.7 Tons Of Wild Boar Meat Entering Bali Is Destroyed

DENPASAR - Denpasar, Bali quarantine officers thwarted 1.7 tons of illegal wild boar meat smuggling to Bali. The wild boar meat comes from Jombang, East Java.

From the inspection, 1.7 tons of wild boar meat were packed in sacks carried by a box car on Saturday, March 6.

"The driver of the box car as the carrier of wild boar meat, after being checked, could not show the completeness of the quarantine certificate from the area of origin," he added.

This wild boar meat was destroyed by officers at the agricultural quarantine office in the Gilimanuk working area (Wilker), Bali.

"When carrying out the destruction, it is hoped that with this detention and extermination action, the perpetrators will have a deterrent effect not to repeat the importation of illegal pork or wild boar from outside Bali in preventing the entry and spread of HPHKs in Bali as mandated in Law No. 21 of 2019," he said.
