Women's Doubles Ana/Tiwi Become Indonesian Representatives In The Thailand Open Final
JAKARTA - The third seeded women's doubles Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi became the only Indonesian representative in the final round of the Thailand Open 2024.
This assurance was obtained after Ana/Tiwi won over the second seed from Japan Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi in the semifinals through two straight games 21-12, 21-10, Saturday.
This also marks Ana/Tiwi's first victory over Iwanaga/Nakanishi in three meetings, as well as Ana/Tiwi's first final in the BWF Super 500 tournament.
"We are grateful to be able to win. This success is our first final in the Super 500 level tournament. We thank God and it feels difficult to express with these words of success," said Ana, quoted by Antara from a brief statement from PP PBSI.
Regarding the course of the match, the 2023 Cambodian SEA Games champion said the key to victory lies in the appearance of those who have continued to press the opponent from the start.
"We played as planned, which is to keep the opponent in an uncomfortable zone. From the start we were able to control the game and always excel in scoring points," said Tiwi.
"After all, from the start we forced it with a defensive pattern first. After that, we attacked back. We continued to attack the opponent's defense, and it was successful," he added.

"To face tomorrow's final, we don't know who the opponent is. Tonight we will study the video recording of how the opponent's game is. What is certain is that appearing in the final will be tougher, we have to work even harder," said Ana.
Meanwhile, another Indonesian representative who appeared in today's semifinals, mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, must recognize the superiority of Chinese representatives Guo Xin Wa/Chen Fang Hui through two straight games 15-21, 14-21.
