PSDMBP And Antam Extend Metal Mineral Investigation Cooperation
JAKARTA - The Center for Coal and Geothermal Mineral Resources (PSDMBP) of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources with PT Antam Tbk, especially the Geomin unit agreed to extend the term of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) which was on October 31, 2024.
The extension was carried out with the signing of a new cooperation agreement on Friday 17 May at the Bandung PSDMBP office.
The signing of the cooperation agreement on the Investigation of the Potential Metal Mineral Resources is an amendment as well as an extension of the previous Cooperation Agreement. The signing was carried out by the Head of PSDMBP Agung Pribadi and General Manager of the Abdul Bari Geomin Unit, witnessed by the Head of the Geological Agency Muhammad Wafid and Director of Business Development of PT Antam Tbk I Dewa Wirantaya.
"As the results of the cooperation activities obtained in the past period, we hope that this collaboration will be able to provide areas with new metal mineral prospects, so that in turn it can add metal mineral resources/backs, especially gold, nickel, bauxite and other metal commodities," said Wafid, Saturday, May 18.

Wafid said that the PKS signing was also to respond to regulations related to the assignment of an investigation of metal minerals by PPSDMBP, so the new cooperation agreement prepared for the location target as part to be prepared as a mining business permit (WIUP) area.
"ESDM-BUMN crucial issues, related to resource resilience and reserve resilience, and responding to regulations related to the assignment of metal mineral investigation and research, at PKS this time several location targets have been prepared as part of the preparation of WIUP from the data side and geological information," said Wafid.
For PSDMBP itself, according to the main task force, this PKS is a manifestation of the role of PSDMBP to help SOEs in the search for new metal commodity sources, especially gold, nickel and bauxite and copper where Au reserves at PT Antam IUP have decreased.
"This activity is also inseparable from the goal of realizing added value for improving the quality of professional human resources, in supporting PSDMBP and PT. Antam services to the community," concluded Wafid.
