Before The Ministry Of Health, Terawan Claims That Nusantara Vaccines Are Safe For Comorbids

JAKARTA - Former Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto claims his COVID-19 vaccine, the Nusantara Vaccine, is safe to use for people who have comorbidities or people with comorbidities.

This was conveyed by Terawan in front of the Ministry of Health, the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency, Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology at a working meeting with the DPR.

"Hopefully this will become a good foundation, at least if to overcome autoimmune ones, or those with severe comorbidities, or those that are indeed constrained by other vaccines, this will be a solution or an alternative that can be used," said Terawan at the DPR building. , Wednesday, March 10.

Terawan revealed that since 2015 he has been developing vaccine dendritic cells at the cell cure center of the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.

Dendritic cells are components of white blood cells. These cells recognize the antigen that will be injected back into the body and will trigger other immune cells to form a memory defense system.

Until finally the COVID-19 pandemic hit when he became Minister of Health, Terawan immediately developed vaccine dendritic cells with antigens from the Sars Cov-2 virus.

"As soon as there was the idea of dendritic vaccines for COVID-19, the titillated one was embraced. Then we have also received animal (clinical) tests regarding the dendritic vaccine for COVID-19 through a third party in America, so this can all work well, making us stable," said Terawan.

Terawan hopes that the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Administration can fully support the initiative he is doing with dr. Kariadi Semarang and Diponegoro University Semarang.

"Hopefully this can continue to support the Ministry of Health and BPOM," he concluded.
