He was met by Antara in the 2021 Karhutla Control Preparedness Apple held by the South Sumatra Provincial Government at the Sriwijaya Botanical Garden in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Tuesday, March 9.
The DMPA program aims to invite and foster communities to manage land in agroforestry, and not by burning it. In addition, it gives people the opportunity to increase their income.
For the partnership program, the paper producer partner owned by the late conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja in South Sumatra involved the surrounding community from planting to harvesting with a total partnership crop area of 49,558 hectares in OKI Regency.
Through the DMPA program and this partnership, APP Sinar Mas, known as the Sinar Dunia (Sidu) branded book, hopes to become a permanent solution to prevent forest and land fires. In addition, of course, the community can increase their income, it can also reduce fire-prone areas.
Meanwhile, for fire management, APP Sinar Mas and its supplier partners have put forward an extensive monitoring method supported by the latest technology and infrastructure, namely an integrated situation room facility, located in a number of districts.
GM Fire Management Sujica Lusaka said in terms of rapid response to fires, the fire must be controlled within 8 hours of a hotspot being detected. This is in accordance with the Fire Operation Management (FOM) extinguishing operation SOP.
APP Sinar Mas also and its supplier partners optimize all existing resources on land, water and air to support the government's efforts to prevent forest and land fires.
"We believe that with careful preparation and strong collaboration between the private sector, government and society, we will be able to prevent and control forest and land fires this year," said Sujica.
APP Sinar Mas and its supplier partners have alerted more than 700 fire fighting personnel (RPK), 42 Rapid Reaction Teams (TRC), and 583 Fire Concerned Communities (MPA). These personnel were deployed in the districts of Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) and Musi Banyuasin (Muba), who have attended various trainings and certifications.
They are equipped with various equipment and means of transportation, namely 63 units of cars and 162 units of patrol motorbikes, 83 units of speed boats, 4 units of air boats and 600 units of fire pumps.
APP Sinar Mas has also alerted 6 units of water bombing helicopters to support blackout operations in South Sumatra, Jambi and Riau.
South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru said that what has been done to date in preventing and controlling forest and land fires has yielded maximum results.
"But it still has to be monitored and evaluated. It must involve all stakeholders in the province and regency / city," said Herman Deru when he opened the 2021 Forest and Land Fire Control Preparedness Apple in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Tuesday, March 9.
Meanwhile, Pangdam II / Sriwijaya Majyen TNI Agus Suhardi also added that so far the prevention and control of forest and land fires has been running smoothly. The Pangdam on this occasion appreciated the people of South Sumatra, who are now no longer clearing land by burning.
"So far, it has been running, the socialization has been going on. Of course we cannot establish this alone, it must be with all levels of society and the company. APP Sinar Mas is very supportive of the implementation of this stage of the procedure," he said.
