Industrial Vocal Fair Efforts By The Ministry Of Industry To Create Human Resources Ready To Work
JAKARTA - The need for competent personnel in the industrial sector continues to increase. In order to revive industrial performance in Central Java and Yogyakarta, the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) held the Central Java and DIY Regional Vocal Fairs at AK-Tekstil Solo.
"This activity is expected to produce competent human resources to create a strong and competitive industry," said Head of BPSDMI of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan in his official statement, Thursday, May 16.
The processing industry itself still dominates the economy of Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in the first quarter of 2024, the manufacturing sector contributed 34.99 percent to the Central Java economy, with growth reaching 1.79 percent (yoy).
Meanwhile, the contribution of the manufacturing sector to the DIY economy reached 12.07 percent, with growth at 5.02 percent (yoy).
According to Masrokhan, processing industry activities certainly require strong and innovative industrial human resources.
"Therefore, we are actively conducting industrial vocational education and training to produce prospective workers who are competent and ready to work," he said.
The Vocal Fair Industrial Event itself is enlivened by various activities that support the progress of the industrial vocational world.
For example, Industrial Gathering activities are a forum for school organizers and campuses of the Ministry of Industry with the relevant sector industries. This effort is to create educational units that link and match with industry.
"On the occasion of the Industrial Vocal Fair, 29 MoUs of cooperation have been signed to strengthen synergies in building industrial vocational education," he said.
There is also Focus Group Discussion with various topics that present industrial practitioners to academics.
In addition, there are also educational exhibitions and Job Fairs for job opportunities in industrial sectors.
The Industrial Vocal Fair will be held in four areas, namely Jakarta and West Java, Central Java and DIY, Sumatra and Sulawesi.
The four regions represent the existence of schools and campuses of the Ministry of Industry spread across various regions of Indonesia.
In Central Java, the Ministry of Industry has the Solo Textile Community Academy and the Kendal Wood Furniture and Processing Polytechnic.
