No Regrets About The Past, Former Arsenal Midfielder David Bentley Now Has A Bar And Restaurant

JAKARTA - Do you still remember David Bentley? Yes, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal star played his last game at the age of 28. Now, at the age of 36, he has other activities to do.

The former England midfielder now co-runs the La Sala group, which consists of bars and restaurants in Spain and Gibraltar. Currently, he lives in Marbella.

The man, who also had a Blackburn Rovers costume, seemed to be enjoying his retirement. He also runs Shortgrove Renovations and Construction.

Bentley admits that he can still be a footballer, even though he doesn't want to stay in the game just for money.

"I've learned a lot about business. With what I'm doing now, every day is different," Bentley told The Athletic.

“This is really interesting. Soccer; yes, it gives you comfort but in the end it becomes… it's not fun. ”

Starting his Arsenal career, Bentley played only one Premier League game for the Gunners although he appeared under Arsene Wenger.

His chip shot against Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer in the FA Cup at the age of 19 made many applaud the then-rising Bentley.

However, that goal did not make him an Arsenal regular. He then went on loan to Norwich City and Blackburn. Bentley has never regretted his past.

"I look back on my life and hopefully my (business) is only halfway through, and I think everything is fine. It's been a wonderful journey."
