MKMK Starts Discussing Reports Of Alleged Ethical Violations Of Anwar Usman
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) I Dewa Gede Palguna said his party had begun to discuss reports of alleged violations of the code of ethics against Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman.
"We will only talk about this afternoon with two other MKMK members," Palguna said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 15.
The discussion, he said, was to examine whether the report submitted by an advocate named Zico Leonardo Djagardo Simanjuntak had met the formality requirements or not.
"We have to research the formality of the report first, whether it meets the requirements to continue or not because according to the Constitutional Court Regulation, not every complaint or report must automatically be forwarded to the registration stage. We must do the procedure first," he said.
He also emphasized that although Anwar Usman is currently being reported to the MKMK, he can still participate in the trial of the 2024 Pilleg General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case.
"Yes, you can," he said.
It is known that Anwar Usman was reported for alleged ethical violations related to the principles of appropriateness and decency stated in Sapta Karsa Hutama.

In the report document received, Zico as the reporting party assessed that there was an alleged conflict of interest between Anwar Usman and advocate Muhammad Rullyandi.
It is known, Anwar filed a lawsuit at the Administrative Court against the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo. Rullyandi became one of the experts Anwar filed in the trial in the case.
In addition, Anwar, who was a judge at the trial of Panel Tiga with Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat and Enny Nurbaningsih, faced Rullyandi, who was one of the litigants at the Constitutional Court in the 2024 PHPU Pilleg case with the position of power of the respondent, namely the KPU.
At least, the reporter found two cases in which Muhammad Rullyandi became the power of attorney, and even in one of the cases, Anwar Usman became a panel judge of the case," Zico said in his report.
According to him, it is inappropriate for a judge to ask for the services of an expert from a lawyer who is currently having a case brought to trial by the judge.
In the main point of his report, Zico stated that if the report he submitted was true, he asked the MKMK to impose sanctions for dishonorable dismissal of Anwar Usman or at least ask for a fair decision.
