Deputy Minister Of Trade Calls The Indonesian Economy Consistent Never Below 4 Percent
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) Jerry Sambuaga appreciates Indonesia's consistent economic growth achievement in the range of 5 percent in recent years. Jerry assessed that this could be realized due to a joint collaboration.
"We are facing years that we have to be more enthusiastic. I am talking about our economic growth to be stable in the range of 5 percent, we have never been below 4 percent. That is, conducive, good, stable and most importantly consistent," he said while giving a speech at the Inabuyer B2B2G Expo 2024 event at the Smesco Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 15.
In addition, Jerry also said that Indonesia's trade balance is currently still in a surplus at an average of 2 billion US dollars.
"We accumulated until March (2024) it was around 7 billion US Dollars. Of course this is supported by all parties not only the Ministry of Trade, but also the perpetrators," he said.
He added that the RI inflation rate is also still maintained, which is below 3 percent. This also shows that Indonesia's inflation is still relatively good compared to other countries in the world.

"Inflation (RI) is good. That's why thanks to all ranks who have worked hand in hand. We are below 3 percent, this is quite low, where other countries around the world have high inflation," he said.
According to Jerry, these three things were achieved thanks to good coordination between ministries/agencies, both the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and local governments (Pemda).
"And don't forget the local government. This is important, why? Because when we talk it is important because when we talk about many products in the regions. And in the regions synergize with cross-regional governments. This is what we have to instill and remember that advancing products must be a lot of coordination and synergy," he said.
