Korlantas Polri Will Implement Road Closures During The World Water Forum In Bali
JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police will implement traffic engineering related to the implementation of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) Summit (KTT) in Bali. Road closures and flow diversions are several of them.
"There are several roads that we have shifted to several closed roads, so this may reduce the comfort of Balinese people, we apologize but all of this is for the good name of Indonesia," said Head of Traffic Police Inspector General Aan Suhanan in his statement, Wednesday, May 15.
However, it was not conveyed in detail which roads would be closed or the diversion of traffic flow was enforced.
However, the traffic engineering scheme will be implemented in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport area, Nusa Dua to Melasti Beach.
With the implementation of the traffic engineering scheme, Aan said that his party had prepared alternative routes so as to minimize disturbances in community activities.
"Officers have prepared alternative routes if later there is a diversion of the flow, we have prepared a route that will be used at the time of closing the flow as well, we ensure that this closure is only temporary," he said. On the other hand, Kakorlantas also asked for help and support from all Balinese residents to make the international event a success.
"Everything we do is in the context of escorting to serve the Balinese people, so that routine activities are not anticipated. Safely, keep the spirit safe, we must collaborate to work together," said Aan.
For information, the 10th World Water Forum will be held in Bali from 18 to 25 May 2024. The activity will discuss four things, namely water conservation, clean water and sanitation, food and energy security, and natural disaster mitigation.
