Indonesia's Export Value In April 2024 Decreased 12.97 Percent To 19.62 Billion US Dollars
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the export value of April 2024 of 19.62 billion US dollars, down 12.97 percent compared to the previous month 22.54 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, the export value of April 2024 was recorded to have increased by 1.72 percent compared to the same period last year which reached 19.28 billion US dollars.
Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics of BPS, Pudji Ismartini said the value of oil and gas exports was US$1.35 billion, an increase of 5.03 percent. Then the value of non-oil and gas exports decreased by 14.06 percent with a value of 18.27 billion US dollars.
"The monthly decline in April's export value was driven by a decrease in non-oil and gas exports, especially in metals, starting and jewelry from jewelry or gems, namely HS 71 with a 2.12 percent stake, followed by machinery and electrical equipment and its parts (HS 85) with a contribution of 1.44 percent, along with vehicles and their parts (HS 87) with a decrease of 0.77 percent," he explained at a press conference, Wednesday, May 15.
Pudji said the increase in non-oil and gas exports was driven by an increase in the value of gas exports with a share of 8.0 percent.
"An annual export value in April 2024 increased by 1.72 percent. This increase was driven by an increase in non-oil exports, especially in metals, starting from jewelry or gems or HS 71, then goods from iron and steel or HS 73 and nickel goods from him or HS 75," he said.
Meanwhile, the total monthly non-oil and gas exports were mainly contributed by a decrease in the export value of the manufacturing sector, down 15.95 percent in April 2024 month to month.
The largest non-oil and gas exports in April 2024 were to China, namely 4.28 billion US dollars, followed by India 1.81 billion US dollars, and the United States 1.75 billion US dollars, with the contribution of the three reaching 42.98 percent.
Cumulatively, Indonesia's export value from January to April 2024 reached 81.92 billion US dollars, down 5.12 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
