A Number Of Things Conveyed By Amien Rais When Meeting With President Jokowi

JAKARTA - Led by Amien Rais, the Team of Guards for Murder Incidents (TP3) of six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) troops held a meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Jakarta. During the meeting, the founder of the Ummat Party together with a number of other parties asked the government to enforce the rules fairly and even reminded the threat of hell.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD who conveyed about the meeting said that the atmosphere of this activity was quite serious and was carried out in a short time for 15 minutes. There were a number of points mentioned by the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) after the meeting.

The first is that there must be law enforcement in accordance with the provisions of the law, according to God's orders. "And secondly, there is a threat from God that if people kill believers without rights, then the threat is hell," Mahfud said in a press conference after attending the meeting which was broadcast on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday, March 9.

In addition, Amien asked Jokowi to hold a human rights court regarding the shooting of six FPI troops. This is because they believe that there have been murders which were committed by violating gross human rights, not just ordinary human rights violations. (Who is the real Amien Rais figure? The editorial team has reviewed it in detail in the article Who is Amien Rais?) "Earlier they stated that they believed that six FPI soldiers had been killed and they asked that this be brought to a human rights court for gross human rights violations. , "said Mahfud.

Responding to this, Mahfud then asked TP3 to include evidence. Moreover, the government has been open to input regarding the shooting case of the FPI paramilitary troops on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. "I said the government is open. If there is, where is the evidence of serious human rights violations? Where? Tell it now or if not, tell the President what to do later," he said.

Mahfud said, gross human rights violations have three conditions, namely structured, systematic, and massive. Structured means that it is carried out by the apparatus officially in a tiered manner.

Systematic is behavior with clear stages. Meanwhile, massive is a human rights violation that causes widespread victims. Mahfud said the government would follow up on TP3's wishes if there was evidence that the conditions for gross human rights violations were met.

However, if TP3 claims that there were gross human rights violations based solely on belief, the government doubts. This is because Mahfud holds the results of the investigation by Komnas HAM which stated that the shooting of the FPU laskar was not a serious human rights violation.

"If you just say you are sure, you can't. Because we have faith too, there are many perpetrators, this is the culprit, that's the brain, that's the financing, we are also sure. But there's no proof," he said.

Still at the same press conference, Mahfud also spoke up about the investigation of this case. The government, Mahfud emphasized, did not interfere with the investigation process, either the Komnas HAM or the police.

"The president did not interfere at all. The government never concluded this, concluded that," he said.

He even said that President Jokowi gave the widest possible opportunity to Komnas HAM when they investigated the deaths of six FPI troops.

"At that time, the President said that Komnas HAM was welcome to work freely. Call anyone who feels that he has an opinion, who feels that he has faith, not to tell the president what the recommendations are," Mahfud said.

This meeting was then responded to by the Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Ujang Komarudin, who thought that the handling of the shooting case should run more fairly. In addition, the disclosure of the case should increasingly reveal the true truth in the field.

This is because this meeting was held because Amien wanted the government to ensure that the shooting was handled fairly, transparently and professionally.

"If the handling is fair and can reveal the truth as it is, then the people will trust the government. However, if the opposite is true, the people will no longer trust the government and law enforcers," he concluded.
