5 Former SYL Subordinates Will Be Presented At Today's Trial
JAKARTA - Prosecutors at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) presented Syahrul Yasin Limpo's former subordinates while still serving as Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) in a trial for alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities at the Jakarta Corruption Court today, Wednesday, May 15.
Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said five officials at the Ministry of Agriculture were summoned as witnesses. One of them is the Director General of Food Crops at the Ministry of Agriculture, Suwandi.
"The team of prosecutors presented witnesses at the trial of the defendant Syahrul Yasin Limpo, et al," Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, May 15.
In addition, the prosecutor will also present Director General of Horti Kementan Prihasto Setyanto, Andi Muhammad Idil Fitri who is the Head of the General Section of the Director General of Horti Kementan, the General Head of the Director General of Food Crops at the Ministry of Agriculture Edi Eko Sasmito, and the Secretary General of Food Crops at the Ministry of Agriculture Bambang Pamuji.

As previously reported, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who is a former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), is currently undergoing trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court. He is suspected of extorting his employees of up to Rp44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.
This money was then used for the benefit of Syahrul's wife and family, invited gifts, the NasDem Party, religious events, aircraft charters to Umrah and sacrifices. In addition, he was also charged with receiving gratuities of Rp40.6 billion from January 2020 to October 2023.
