Ministry Of Agriculture Supports The Opening Of 10 Thousand Hectares Of Agricultural Land In Kaltara
The North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Provincial Agriculture and Food Security Service (DPKP), will open 10,000 hectares of new agricultural land in Kaltara.
The head of the North Kalimantan DPKP, Heri Rudiyono, said that apart from receiving support from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan, this program will also involve the TNI-AD and Field Agricultural Extension (PPL) who will assist farmers from planting to harvesting.
"The government, TNI and farmers in Kaltara will collaborate to increase agricultural self-sufficiency in Kaltara," said Heri, Tuesday, May 14.
He explained that the 10,000 hectares of agricultural land program will be completely opened in each district/city in Kaltara.
"Actually, we have opened land, but we have not achieved the target of 10 thousand hectares. It is hoped that this program will be used by new farmers who want to expand their agricultural land, especially since the government is ready to help," he explained.
The same thing was expressed by the Special Staff of the Minister for Agricultural Policy, Sam Herodian.
"The expansion of agricultural land in Kaltara is strongly supported by the Ministry of Agriculture," said Herodian.
In addition to having the same vision as the Ministry of Agriculture's program, this expansion of agricultural land will increase food security around the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area.
"As we know, this IKN area will later make Kaltara the economic support and food security. So that we fully support this program," he said.
The central government will prepare supporting assistance for Kaltara agriculture such as fertilizers, tractors, tractor hands to heavy equipment which this year will soon be realized.
"This agricultural land expansion program is very helpful for farmers and an opportunity for farmers to increase their economic income," he said.
