The Moment Of Haru Blusukan Gibran 'Jokowi' Rakabuming At The Surakarta Prison, Prisoners Pray For 'Healthy Yes, Sir Nggih'
JAKARTA - The Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, paid his first visit to the Class IA Surakarta Prison located at Slamet Riyadi St No.18, Kampung Baru, Pasar Kliwon, Tuesday, March 9.
During this visit the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) heard an explanation from one of the prison officers about the renovation of several buildings. In addition, it also explained the video call facility intended for detainees.
"There is a video call service as a substitute for direct visits," said the prison official as quoted by the Surakarta news Youtube channel.
At one point, Gibran approached several inmates who wanted to see him in person. He greeted him and asked the inmates to adhere to health protocols by wearing masks.
As he turned and was about to leave, suddenly a voice came from the inmates praying for Gibran. "You are well, Sir," said one of the prison residents. "Yes, don't forget to wear a mask," replied Gibran.
Gibran then traced several buildings in which were equipped with sewing machines to printing clothes. Finally, Gibran looked at wooden crafts in various forms. There are ship forms to name plates.
Without realizing it, one of the ship's replicas was given to Gibran by the craftsman. This is a memento for him.
Gibran's visit was to keep in touch and at the same time strengthen the synergy between the Solo City Government and the Class IA Surakarta Prison. He gave his appreciation for the guidance carried out by prison officials.
"In we see the production tools for sewing tools, screen printing equipment, crafts are also very extraordinary. This guidance can be improved in the future. Homework (homework) is capacity, overcapacity. We will discuss this in more detail later," explained Gibran.
The number of residents assisted by the Class I Rutan Solo is 535 people. Meanwhile, the capacity itself is only 289 people.
