Google Will Stop Google Wallet Services For Old Android And Wear OS

JAKARTA - Google's search giant has announced that Google Wallet's service is coming to an end for the old Android version or below Android 9 and also Wear OS below 2.

"On June 10, 2024, Google Wallet will require Android 9 or higher on your phone and Wear OS 2.x or higher on your smartwatch," Google wrote on the help page found by 9to5google.

If you want to use the features in Google Wallet optimally, then you must update this Wear OS or Android to the latest version or the version that is still supported.

To help keep Wallet features like tap transactions to pay more secure, we have to be able to send security updates to your device. Security updates are not available for Android versions below 9,' added the company.

Google Wallet is a digital wallet that replaces Google Pay. Although users are claimed to be five times more than Google Pay, the application is only available in the United States.

After two years of launch, in mid-April, Google reportedly plans to expand into a new country. Accidentally, Google revealed that Wallet will be available in India. A preview of this application can be seen on the country's dedicated Play Store by Techcrunch.
