BNPT Holds Intelligence Operations To Protect The 10th World Water Forum
JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) conducted intelligence operations in Bali as well as buffer areas such as West Nusa Tenggara and East Java to welcome the implementation of the 10th World Water Forum.
BNPT also conducts cyber patrols on social media that have the potential to threaten the implementation of the World Water Forum. This was done so that the 2024 World Water Forum can run safely and smoothly.
"BNPT certainly always collaborates with various parties in the context of early detection so that the 10th World Water Forum can run safely and smoothly," said Head of the Legal, Public Relations and Information Technology Section of BNPT Lieutenant Colonel Sus. Tjandra Sulistiyono was reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 11.
BNPT also held a series of Coordination Meetings (Rakor) of the Intelligence Community to anticipate the occurrence of criminal acts of terrorism. In addition, BNPT carried out community development operations against former terrorism convicts who had returned to the community.
"This activity is an effort to prevent acts of terrorism," he said.
Basically, he said, there were four goals for the community's development. First, identify the deradicalization targets of former convicts and people or groups of people exposed in the Bali area and its surroundings, including NTB, East Java, and South Sulawesi.

Second, provide strengthening religious and national insight to the target of deradicalization. Third, provide entrepreneurship support to the target of deradicalization.
"Fourth, conducting geographical, sociological, and ideological monitoring of the targets of deradicalization," added Tjandra.
BNPT is trusted as a member in charge of security and health, in accordance with Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 13 of 2024 concerning the National Committee for Organizing the 10th World Water Forum.
This year's World Water Forum will be held in Bali on 18'25 May 2024 with the theme "Water for Shared Prosperity" or "Air for Joint Welfare".
