#YoungLexApologizetoLayZhang, International Fans' Call For Alleged Plagiarism By Young Lex

JAKARTA - Today, March 9, the hashtag #YoungLexApologizetoLayZhang takes first place on the social network Twitter.

As previously reported, Young Lex has just released a music video entitled The Last King, which is the result of a collaboration with a game company.

However, fans found similarities between Young Lex's video and Lit's music video released by Lay EXO in June 2020. They also filled Young Lex's comments column so that the video could be deleted.

Interestingly, this collective effort is not only done by EXO fans. K-pop fans and netizens have also spoken out about this case. This issue itself is already popular on Weibo, social media from China.

“Yixing (Lay's real name) worked hard to make this song. Plagiarism is a dishonorable act. Apologize to Yixing, "wrote a fan.

“If you are going to copy Yixing's work, at least do it well. How can you release a bad product when Yixing is the source ?! It really bothers me, ”said another fan who saw the animation in the Young Lex music video.

"He said kpop brain micin but what he plagiarized was a Chinese song. Yixing is also not an arbitrary person in China. The news is already busy on Weibo until his dragon (Young Lex) is said to look like a lizard."

Young Lex made a clarification via Instagram saying he was not involved in the creative process of the music video. He only wrote the lyrics and composed the song.

However, Young Lex's explanation didn't stop the fans from getting angry. In fact, they said they had reported to Lay's agency in Korea and China to take care of this case.
