150 Hectares Of Agricultural Land In North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi Affected By Floods

KENDARI - An area of 150 hectares used as agricultural land in Puuwanggudu Village, Asera District, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), was affected by flooding.

Puuwanggudu Village Head Jumran Amin said the community's agricultural land experienced crop failure because it was flooded.

"Honestly, our people want to harvest. Because of the flood, we want to take all the rice that has been affected by the flood," said Jumran Amin as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 11.

He said the community's agricultural land in Puuwanggudu Village was divided into two lands.

The first agricultural land covers an area of 70 hectares and the second is 80 hectares. In addition to rice fields, the land is also planted with vegetables in the form of rice fields and others

"We have two locations, here with the opposite, we count 70 hectares here and across it 80 hectares, so only 150 hectares of rice fields with vegetables," he said.

As for the number of farmers in the village, according to Sumran Amin, there were 180 residents. They make a living by becoming farmers in Puuwagungdu Village.

"Approximately 180 farmers in Puuwagungdu Village," he explained.

The number of houses affected by the flood in Puuwagungdu Village, he said, there were 91 houses with around 142 heads of families (KK) or around 482 people.

Jumran Amin also revealed that the North Konawe Regency Government (Pemkab) had distributed assistance in the form of permanent residential houses for people in Puuwanggudu Village, so that some of the people who had received permanent housing immediately returned to fill the housing.

"Incidentally, there was something prepared by the local government, initially it was temporary shelter (huntara), then it was used as a permanent residence (huntap). However, our problem yesterday was because not all of my residents received huntap, only 68 families, the rest said the next stage," said Jumran Amin.
