Long Holiday, Passengers From Gambir Station And Pasar Senen Reach 125,000 People
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that the volume of long-distance train passengers (KAJJ) from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen experienced a spike on weekend holidays and joint leave for the Awakening Day of Jesus Christ.
Public Relations Manager of Daop 1 Jakarta Ixfan Hendriwintoko said long-distance train tickets (KAJJ) from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen have been ordered around 125.00 tickets for the departure period 8 to 12 May 2024.
Based on ticket booking data, the highest number of service users occurred today, Thursday, May 9, 2024, a total of around 35,664 users departed from Gambir Station, Pasar Senen and several other stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta area.
"Of these, 17,419 passengers departed from Pasar Senen Station, 12,748 passengers from Gambir Station and the remaining 5 thousand other passengers from Bekasi, Jatinegara, Cikarang, Karawang, Cikampek and Jakarta Kota Stations," he said in an official statement, Friday, May 10.

The number of passengers departing at this weekend's long holiday has more than doubled compared to the average passenger on weekdays.
To meet the needs of train customers at this long holiday moment, said Ixfan, starting on May 8, 2024 KAI Daop 1 Jakarta will run several additional trains, namely Argo Cheribon Gambir-Cirebon pp relation, Argo Parahyangan Gambir-Bandung PP, Taksaka Additional Gambir-Yogyakarta pp Station and Manahan Gambir-Yogyakarta pp relations.
The additional frequency of train travel is aimed at anticipating an increase in customer volume on the long weekend holiday in early May 2024.
"The increase in the number of train trips is part of KAI's commitment to improve services to customers, especially during high seasons like this week's long weekend," said Ixfan.
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta hopes that people who have planned to travel during the long weekend holiday The increase in Jesus Christ and who do not yet have tickets can buy it either through the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, or other channels in collaboration with KAI.
"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date and route or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the Access by KAI application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he explained.
