Gathering With Sandiaga Uno, Prabowo Wants Equestrian Activities At Super Priority Destinations

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno was in touch with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto at the Office of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, yesterday.

On this occasion, Sandiaga Uno admitted to getting a lot of input from Prabowo regarding steps to restore the tourism sector and the creative economy after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sandi, his nickname, said that Prabowo has a great interest in sports-based tourism, especially equestrian sports. He hopes that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy can present equestrian sports in five super priority destinations (DSP), namely Lake Toba, Borobudur, Labuan Bajo, Likupang and Mandalika.

"Pak Prabowo proposed several horse riding activities in our super priority destinations. And also Pak Prabowo's desire to build a polo field in Likupang, North Sulawesi, so that it becomes an integrated sports facility that will be presented in Likupang," Sandi said in his official statement. , Tuesday, March 9.

In addition, Sandi said, Prabowo also provided input on a national tourism campaign based on quality, sustainability and culture in accordance with the Kemenparekraf tagline, namely Thoughtful Indonesia.

The tagline explained Sandiaga Uno emphasized the creation of environmentally friendly tourism, such as waste management to urban aesthetic arrangement.

In addition, the program to reduce vehicle emissions through the provision of environmentally friendly transportation. One of them is through the operation of electric trams in leading tourist destinations such as Bali, especially in the Kuta, Legian and Seminyak areas which were often crowded with tourists before the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Pak Prabowo also shared experiences that several European countries have implemented parking in special areas connected to electricity-based transportation facilities such as trams. So that this transportation problem can be solved in the midst of a pandemic. Dense areas in Bali are very congested and this reduces the comfort of tourists, "he said.

At the same time, Prabowo said he also asked him to collaborate with the Regional Government (Pemda) regarding the aesthetic arrangement of the city, including parks and public areas. He wants trees and ornamental plants to be planted uniformly, so as to enhance the appearance of the tourist area.

"That was also an input from Pak Prabowo which I was also very surprised (surprised), because he was very deep into tourism issues," he said.

Not only that, the meeting which took place casually, he disclosed, also discussed the development of the national parekraf sector recovery.

Among them, the arrangement of five super priority destinations, COVID-19 vaccination for national parekraf sector actors, the concept of a sustainable Tourism Village, empowerment of MSMEs and travel corridors.

"Our hope is how to spread hope, enthusiasm, that we will rise again, starting from the tourism sector. That's what we hope," said Sandiaga Uno.

Sandi emphasized that tourism is not part of the problem, the creative economy is not part of the problem, but part of the nation's solution to getting out of the pandemic.
