Heru Budi: If At Minimarket There Is Free Parking Writing, Don't Force It

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono reminded illegal parking attendants in minimarkets not to force buyers to pay parking fees to him.

"If there is free writing in minimarkets, don't force it. Don't make residents restless," said Heru at the National Center of National Affairs, Wednesday, May 8.

Heru admitted that he had instructed the ranks of the Transportation Service and the DKI Satpol PP to control illegal jukir in minimarkets.

This control is the aftermath of people's unrest who are often asked for parking rates every time they visit minimarkets using vehicles.

"So I have asked the transportation service to be brought under control by illegal parking attendants. It has started operations from yesterday to not disturb the public," explained Heru.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, emphasized that the provisions for parking at minimarkets were free of charge.

"Regarding parking at minimarkets as our regulations, there is free parking there. So, the manager is not allowed to collect," Syafrin told reporters, Friday, May 3.

However, Syafrin admitted that these recalcitrant jukir people still took advantage of the opportunity to arrange parking and collect tariffs at minimarkets.

"It's as if it's the driver's obligation to pay. It shouldn't be, because that's a facility that must be prepared in the minimarket," said Syafrin.
