Bulungan Suri Lemlai Monument Revitalized
TANJUNG SELOR - Bulungan Regency Government (Pemkab), North Kalimantan (Kaltara), revitalized the Lemlai Suri monument on Jalan Telor Break, Tanjung Selor District.
In order for the revitalization project to run smoothly, the Bulungan Regency Government collaborated with the Bulungan Police Traffic Unit to temporarily divert traffic flow from Jalan Serindit to Jelarai Selor.
Bulungan Regent, Syarwani, said the Bulungan Regency Government had allocated a budget of Rp. 300 million in the 2024 APBD to revitalize one of the proud icons of the Bulungan residents.
"This revitalization is carried out to add to the beauty and beauty of the Suri Lemlai Monument," said Syarwani, Tuesday, May 7.
Syarwani emphasized that despite the revitalization, his party still maintains the icon of the Lemlai Suri Monument as pride for the people in Bulungan.
"We will raise the Suri's Lemlai Monument to 24 meters," he said.
It is hoped that this revitalization can increase the shared spirit in accelerating development in the regions.
"I hope this revitalization project can run smoothly," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bulungan Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP), Adriani added, the revitalization project was carried out for 240 calendar days.
"Physical work is done thoroughly, but we don't change the original shape," said Adriani.
"The Suri's Lemlai Monument will be elevated from 18 meters to 24 meters," he continued
He explained that the broken egg icon would be replaced from concrete material to bronze. However, for the construction of the bottom of the monument, it is certain that it will continue to use concrete construction.
"For bronze material, we ordered from outside, because here (Bulungan) there is no material like that. God willing, in the near future we will order," he added.
Adriani said that the position of the Suri Lemlai Monument would also be changed or not parallel to the median of the road. Therefore, a shift is made to the left side.
"What is clear is that we will not change the original form, because it has history," he said.
During the project implementation, the Bulungan DPRKP admitted that it had coordinated with the Bulungan Police Traffic Unit to divert the route.
"From Sengkawit Street to Selarai Selor, there is still one route," he said.
Likewise, the route from Jelarai Selor to Sengkawit Street. Meanwhile, access from Jalan Serindit to Jelarai Selor must turn back in front of the Bunda Hayati City Forest.
"We are optimistic that the work will be completed according to the contract. Hopefully, there will be no obstacles during the work process," said Adriani.
With this revitalization, it is hoped that it can increase the spirit of together in accelerating development in the regions, as well as bringing tourist attraction to the community and guests visiting Bulungan.
"So it is hoped that the results of the revitalization of the Lemlai Suri Monument can be the pride of the Bulungan people," he concluded.
