Spokesperson For The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Then Muhamad Iqbal Aims For A Forward Ticket For The NTB Cagub

MATARAM - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) Lalu Muhamad Iqbal targeted the NasDem Party ticket and the National Mandate Party (PAN) to advance in the regional head election contestation (Pilkada) of the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province on 27 November 2024.

Then Wiratmaja as Muhamad Iqbal's Traffic Team in Mataram, Wednesday, admitted that the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had officially registered with PAN and the NasDem Party, Tuesday, May 7.

"This is an effort by Pak Iqbal to run as governor by registering with a number of parties, including the NasDem Party and PAN," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 8.

Mamiq Ngoh, the nickname of the former Central Lombok Regent, assessed that historically Lalu Muhamad Iqbal has a close relationship with the NasDem Party. In fact, he is also no stranger to the figure of the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, because both of them were cadres of the Golkar Party.

"So, I'm sure NasDem will respond. Then Iqbal and I are no stranger to NasDem or Pak Surya Paloh because they know each other," explained Mamiq Ngoh.

Apart from NasDem, said Mamiq Ngoh, so far Lalu Muhamad Iqbal has also registered as a candidate for Governor of NTB through a number of parties, namely PKB, Democrats, and PAN. In fact, his party will also target Gerindra Party tickets.

"So, all of our parties are exploring, there are PKB, Democrats, PAN, NasDem, and Gerindra," he added.

Dengan Lalu Muhamad Iqbal mendaftar ke sejumlah partai, dia berharap tiket menjadi calon gubernur bisa diperoleh. Terlebih lagi, pendorong untuk Lalu Muhamad Iqbal maju dalam Pilkada NTB bagian dari ditampi bagi Indonesia untuk menyiapkan Indonesia Emas 2045.

"In the future, efforts can run. This is the initial stage, namely registration," he said.

Chairman of the Bapilu NasDem Party NTB Ardani Zulfikar said that the former Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Lalu Muhamad Iqbal and a number of other prospective governor candidates had registered with the NasDem Party DPW ahead of the closing on Tuesday (7/5) at 21.00 WITA.

"Until the closing of registration on Tuesday night, there were five candidates for governor and one deputy governor candidate who registered with the NasDem Party," he explained.

He mentioned the five candidates for governor who had registered with NasDem, including the Governor of NTB for the 2018 period 2023 Zulkieflimansyah, former East Lombok Regent Sukiman Azmy, and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lalu Muhamad Iqbal. Furthermore, the Regent of Central Lombok Then Pathul Bahri and Acting Governor of NTB Lalu Gita Ariadi.

For the prospective deputy governor candidate, he continued, the Head of the East Lombok Youth and Sports Office, Asrul Sani, continued.

After that, his party submitted the names who registered with the DPP. However, before that, his party first elaborated on the DPW.

"There will be a fit and proper test in the DPP. This also applies to the district/city regional elections, we will treat it the same. Later we will take at least three names to the DPP," said Ardani Zulfikar.

In looking for a candidate for leader, according to Ardani, the NasDem Party does not want to be grandiose. For NasDem, the candidates have a strong commitment to advancing the region and prospering the people.

"If it comes out. However, if it goes inside, the NasDem Party has a commitment to raise the party or not as a peanut, it forgets its skin because it is ready to have many elections like that, so this is our assessment," he explained.

Apart from the matter of commitment, the NasDem Party sees the electability of potential candidates. Even though there is a high electability, without any commitment to raising a party it is also difficult to get party support.

"So, it's useless for high electability, but there's no commitment to the party, what to do," he said.
