Indonesia Strengthens Civil Aviation In Asia Pacific Via FFA In Bali

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) strengthened civil aviation in Asia Pacific through a bilateral meeting of civil aviation authorities in the Asia Pacific region with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which was held in Bali.

"This bilateral meeting aims to strengthen the relationship between senior officials of each country and the FAA, and reaffirm the commitment of each country in the field of aviation safety," said Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations of the Directorate General of Air Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Mochamad Mauludin as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) of the Ministry of Transportation met with civil aviation authorities in Asia Pacific. Indonesia hosts 24th FAA - Asia Pacific Bilateral Partners Dialogue Meeting.

The meeting, which was attended by 10 countries in Asia Pacific, took place at the 24th FAA - Asia Pacific Bilateral Partners Dialogue Meeting for five days from 6-10 May in Denpasar, Bali.

In this event, the Directorate General of Hubud met with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

Not only that, on the same occasion the Directorate General of Hubud also signed a joint agreement (MoU) with the Authority Aviation Civil Timor-Leste (AACTL) and Boeing.

The signing of the Directorate General of Hubud and The Boeing Company (United States) specifically for the commercial aircraft sector is a continuation of the implementation of the civil aviation industry cooperation signed in October 2023, both parties agreed to form a Property Information Agreement.

"This agreement will cover various scopes of cooperation that include aspects of airworthiness, flight operations, capacity building, air navigation services, air transportation, the economy, to sustainable aviation initiatives," said Mauludin.

Meanwhile, the signing of the MoU between the Directorate General of Hubud and AACTL was encouraged by the same desire of the two countries to take part in achieving global targets as stipulated in the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan, namely increasing collaboration at the regional level in strengthening safety surveillance.

Technical cooperation between Indonesia and Timor Leste in the field of technical assistance has been carried out over the last few years. The first aid project is registration and certification of Airbus 320 operation which will be completed in 2022.

As a follow-up to this collaboration, both parties agreed to form a more structured organization through the MoU Technical Cooperation and Technical Assistance on Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation.

"We hope that this meeting between countries and the signing of the MoU can further strengthen cooperation between civil aviation authorities in Asia Pacific to improve the security and safety of civil aviation," said Mauludin.
