Menpora Will Inspect 4 Cities To Host Menpora Cup 2021

JAKARTA - Youth and Sports Minister (Menpora) Zainudin Amali plans to conduct direct inspections of the four cities that host the 2021 Menpora Cup starting next week.

Four cities will hold the 2021 Menpora Cup group phase, namely Solo, Bandung, Sleman, and Malang.

The direct monitoring aims to ensure smooth, safe, and planned implementation of the committee's health protocol in holding tournaments.

However, before traveling to four cities, he will wait for the results of the examination by the PSSI technical team and PT LIB in Bandung, Solo, Sleman, and Malang.

"After that, PSSI and I will tour four places to ensure that the implementation of health protocols can hopefully be carried out better", said Zainudin in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, Monday reported by Antara.

"So maybe (visit) next week, because currently the technical team who have come to Bandung, Solo, Sleman, and Malang", he added.

PSSI Chairperson Mochamad Iriawan also said that he would participate in the review with Menpora later.

He has even discussed with the West Java Police Chief to ensure the safety of the Menpora Cup in Bandung.

"Yesterday, I specifically visited Bandung, I was summoned by the West Java Regional Police to be able to discuss there", said Iriawan after the group draw in Jakarta, Monday.

"Next, when it has been reported to us, we will review with the Minister of Youth and Sports to the four cities", he said again

The Menpora Cup 2021 is participated in by 18 League 1 teams. The tournament opening will be held on March 21, while the closing match is scheduled for April 25.

The home team will not play in their respective homes. This was a decision by the police to maintain security and public order and to avoid the possibility of supporters coming to the stadium.
