River Land In Morowali Soaks Residents' Settlements, 3 Victims Evacuated Using Rubber Boats
The joint SAR team evacuated three flood victims in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng), to a safer place using rubber boats due to overflowing rivers in Dampala Village, Bahodopi District. "Three victims were evacuated in good health, now they are in a safe place. The evacuation process at 06.30 WITA," said SAR Post coordinator Morowali Sahrul Japaruddin in a written statement, Monday, May 6. He explained that the flood was triggered by heavy rains that flushed the Morowali Regency area on Sunday, May 5, resulting in river water discharge in Dampala Village increasing to inundate residents' settlements. After evacuating the SAR team then continued the assessment activities at the flood location, it was reported that there were no casualties. "The identities of the three flood victims who were evacuated, namely Suratnan (43 years), Mina Hermina (38 years) and Ardan (7 years)," he said. from the monitoring his party in the field, the flood began to gradually recede, even so the joint SAR team continued to be on alert. "The joint SAR element involved is the Morowali SAR Post, Babinsa, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Morowali, village government and local communities," said Sahrul.
