Judge Cecar Lawyers To SYL Trial Witnesses Regarding Money For Jokowi's Paspampres

JAKARTA - The trial of the alleged extortion and gratification case with the defendant former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), Syahrul Yasin Limpo, raised new facts. One of them was giving some money to the guard of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

This fact was revealed based on information from Muhammad Yunus as the General Bureau of Procurement of the Ministry of Agriculture staff who was presented as a witness in the trial.

It started when one of the legal advisers for the defendant Syahrul Yasin Limpo read out the expenditure table made by witness Yunus and has been stated in the examination report (BAP).

On page 5 of the table, it is said that President Jokowi gave money to President Jokowi's aide.

"There are several I try to take this, such as ministerial operations for Indonesian aides 1 (president) 3 times Rp. 500 thousand. Is it for the minister's personal use?" asked the legal adviser during a trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday, May 6.

"Eee... it's not, that's an order from my superiors," Yunus replied.

"Right, I asked you, is this table mixed with ministerial activities whose operations are ministers? Wait a minute, you said it was separate, this is all for personal needs. Now if I ask for the Indonesian aide 1 (president) 3 times Rp. 500 thousand?", said the legal adviser.

"That means not just personal needs, the minister's activities outside of that too," said Yunus.

The debate between Yunus and SYL's legal adviser. Chief Judge Rianto Adam Pontoh intervened.

Judge Rianto then questioned the table that emphasized the separation of official and personal interests of the minister.

Until finally, it was mentioned again about giving money to President Jokowi's aide. Witness Yunus also agreed to spend the money.

"Earlier, the follow-up to the legal advisor's question, could you answer earlier?" asked Halim Rianto.

"That's the entry, that's what Rp. 500 thousand times that person has," said Yunus.

"Rp. 500 thousand for what, aide?" said Judge Rianto.

"For tips," Yunus replied.

Judge Rianto turned to SYL's legal adviser. He asked to repeat his question.

"The question was IDR 500 thousand for you?" asked Judge Rianto.

"500 x 3 for Indonesia's 1 aide," he said.

"Paspampres?" asked Judge Rianto to confirm.

"Yes paspampres," answered SYL's legal adviser

Hearing this, Judge Rianto again turned to witnesses. Then, questioned the truth of the expenditure of some of the money.

"Have you ever spent such a fee?" asked Judge Rianto.

"Ever, sir," answered Yunus.

"Who rules?" asked Judge Rianto.

"Mr. Isnar, my Head of Sub Division, sir," said Yunus.
