For Optimization, The Minister Of Transportation Hopes That The Airport Will Be Used For Tambusai To Be Immediately Handed Over To The Ministry Of Transportation
The potential of Tambusai Airport in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province, continues to be encouraged by the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi so that its existence can be optimized in order to improve connectivity and the community's economy.
"With the optimization of the Airport to use Tambusai, it will be easier for people to travel from this district to other places," said Minister of Transportation Budi while visiting Tambusai Airport in Rambah Samo District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 4.
According to the Minister of Transportation, airport connectivity is not only limited to Batam, but also to other areas such as Medan or other areas.
Therefore, the Minister of Transportation hopes that Tambusai Airport can be handed over to the Ministry of Transportation immediately.
"In my opinion, Tambusai Airport has done well, especially now that there has been connectivity to Batam twice a week. However, there is one thing that needs to be resolved, namely related to the transfer of assets to the Ministry of Transportation," said the Minister of Transportation in a statement in Jakarta.
Related to this, the Minister of Transportation has also conveyed to the Forkompinda ranks in Riau Province to coordinate with the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, so that the asset transfer process can be carried out immediately.
"If it has been submitted, airport maintenance can be carried out by the Ministry of Transportation," he explained.

Budi added that Tambusai Airport has a runway of dimensions 1,300 m x 30 m, so that it can be accommodated by aircraft of the ATR72-500 / 600 type. The area of this airport terminal is 3,630 square meters.
Meanwhile, regarding flight routes, Airport uses Tambusai to serve the Batam-Pasir route with a frequency of twice a week. The airline serving the route so far is Susi Air.
Also attending the visit were former Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Darmin Nasution, Rokan Hulu Regent Sukiman, and Director General of Civil Aviation Maria Kristi.
