Twitter Provides The Undo Send Feature So That Tweets Can Be Edited Again!

JAKARTA - Twitter netizens have long been expecting an "edit" button. The goal, of course, is so that users who are not satisfied with a tweet can edit it. Either because the tweet is too cynical, sarcastic, or even embarrassing.

However, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said during an interview with Wired in January 2020 that his platform would not be equipped with these features. And if you look at the updates that the company is rolling out, users seem to have to bury those hopes deeply.

Based on the findings of researcher and leakers Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter was caught developing an alternative version of the Edit feature. This information was shared by Jane via her personal Twitter account. Jane calls it the Undo Send feature.

Basically, it functions to retrieve tweets that have been uploaded by users. The assumption is that the withdrawal is made within the specified time duration.

From the upload, we can see that the Undo Send button will appear immediately after the user uploads it. This button appears below the 'Your Tweet was sent' notification box.

Inside the Undo button, there is a running line effect. This effect indicates that the Undo Send button will only be active for approximately five seconds. This means that the user has approximately five seconds to delay the tweet.

It Has Been Tested

Actually, this button has been mentioned by Twitter for a long time. In July last year, Twitter conducted a survey regarding the implementation of the Undo Send button.

In the survey, Twitter asked about the features that are considered important and less important by users. Quoting Ubergizmo's statement, the Undo Send feature was also included in the survey. Along with other features such as video publishing, auto-responses, badges, and so on.

During the survey, Twitter mentioned the Undo Send feature as a 30-second window that users can use to pull tweets. So that other users can't see it. Unfortunately, the survey results were not explained further by the company.

In the meantime, the author has not been able to get much information about this feature. Regarding how the feature works and how these features differ from users who delete tweets manually.
