Smart Card Hajj is a smart card issued by the Government of Saudi Arabia to facilitate pilgrims who carry out the pilgrimage and Umrah. As the name implies, the Hajj Smart Card is shaped like a card with various benefits because it can be used by its holders during worship.

Reporting from the website of the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, the launch of the Hajj Smart Card has been officially carried out by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah. The launch was carried out ahead of the 1445 H/2024 M Hajj pilgrimage.

Interestingly, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides privileges to pilgrims from Indonesia as the first user. Thus, Indonesian pilgrims will get the best service from the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Tawfiq explained that the Hajj Smart Card is an electronic card resulting from the Saudi Arabian Government's innovation which will provide special services to pilgrims who want to perform the pilgrimage. Some of the benefits of the Hajj Smart Card are as follows.

Not only that, the local Hajj organizing team will conduct an examination of pilgrims who take advantage of Smart Cards, one of which is held while in Arafah. Smart cardholders will be allowed to enter Arafah when the peak of the hajj.

"So pilgrims who can carry out the pilgrimage are pilgrims who only have an official Hajj visa from the Government of Saudi Arabia," said Minister of Hajj Tawfiq.

The Hajj Smart Card was introduced by the Government of Saudi Arabia through the Minister of Hajj and Umrah. The introduction was held in a bilateral meeting between Saudi Arabia and the Government of Indonesia, represented by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in Jakarta, Monday, April 30.

On the website of the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah, it is stated that the launch of the Hajj Smart Card was marked by the embedding of necklaces to representatives of Hajj Pilgrims from Indonesia. Symbolically, the rectification was carried out by the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.

Menhaj Tawfiq himself explained that the Smart Card is the official hajj rule issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Responding to this, Minister of Religion Yaqut said that the Indonesian government is committed to complying with all provisions from the Government of Saudi Arabia.
