Nurul Ghufron Did Not Attend The KPK Council Ethics Trial Because He Sued At The Administrative Court
JAKARTA - The KPK Supervisory Board closed the ethics trial of KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron earlier today, Thursday, May 2.
KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris said the trial was opened and then closed because Ghufron was not present. This is because he is suing the KPK Supervisory Board to the State Administrative Court (PTUN).
"The trial has been opened, then it has been closed because NG was not present on the grounds that he was suing the supervisory board," said Syamsuddin when confirmed via text message, Thursday, May 2.
It is known that Ghufron sued the KPK Supervisory Board because he felt that the alleged ethical violation he had committed had expired and could not be investigated. He is suspected of violating ethics for abusing his authority after communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) after discussing the mutation of an employee.
The current KPK Council has indeed postponed the ethical trial against Ghufron. However, Syamsuddin confirmed that this alleged ethical violation would be thoroughly investigated.
They will even hold another trial in mid-May. "The trial was postponed (until, red) on May 14, 2024," he said.
"If the second summons will not attend, then the ethics trial will continue," continued Syamsuddin.
As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, will be tried for ethics because he is suspected of communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) regarding employee mutations. The KPK Council decided that the trial was held because it had a number of evidences, including information from related parties such as former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Meanwhile, Ghufron reported KPK Council Member Albertina Ho to the KPK Supervisory Board in the midst of investigating the alleged ethical violation. He also sued the KPK Supervisory Board to the State Administrative Court (PTUN).
The report against Albertina was carried out because he coordinated with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to investigate allegations of ethical violations by the prosecutor with the initials IT who extorted judges of up to Rp3 billion. Meanwhile, the lawsuit to the Administrative Court was filed because the KPK Council was deemed not entitled to investigate the alleged ethics because it had expired.
