37,449 People Take Advantage Of The Ministry Of Transportation's Free Homecoming Using Vessels

The Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) noted that 37,449 passengers on free homecoming use ships.

This number is an accumulation during the Eid 2024 transportation period.

Director General of Sea Transportation Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi said for the free ticket program for sea transportation passengers as many as 51 segments with a quota set at 40,018 pax.

"The realization is 37,449 pax or 95,44 percent of the set quota," he said in an official statement Friday, April 26.

Furthermore, Antoni explained, his party had transported 8,663 people and 3,488 motorcycles on the 2024 Sea Ship on the Jakarta (Tanjung Priok)-Semarang (Tanjung Emas) route.

"Realization of passengers from four ship calls as many as 8,663 people or 90.24 percent of the stipulated capacity is 9,600 people and for motorized vehicles as many as 3,488 units or 72.67 percent of the capacity is 4,800 units," he explained.

In general, continued Antoni, the realization of passengers up and down from 264 monitoring ports was 4,732,458 people.

"This number has increased by 13.96 percent from 2023 where passengers rose and fell by 4,376,098 people," he said.

Antoni expressed his appreciation to all parties for the collaboration and coordination so that Eid sea transportation in 2024 can run well and smoothly.

"I thank all parties who have contributed and coordinated together with all elements of Ministries and Institutions, TNI, POLRI, BUMN and Stakeholders of the transportation sector," said Antoni.

Meanwhile, Director of Traffic and Sea Transportation Hendri Ginting explained, ports with the most dense passengers on Lebaran Sea Transportation in 2023/1444 H, including Nusa Penida, Batam, Benoa, Tanjung Pinang, Tanjung Balai Karimun, Tanjung Perak, Winner/Tanjung, Makassar, Selat Panjang and Baubau.

"It is hoped that in the next Eid sea transportation, all ports can immediately map and predict the need for transportation in their respective areas, so that they can coordinate with relevant agencies and stakeholders in optimizing the potential of the fleet," he added.
