JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning in the form of potential moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in a number of provinces in Indonesia on Thursday, April 25. Quoted on the official website of the BMKG in Jakarta, areas that have the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds are in Aceh, Bali, Bangka Belitung, Banten, Bengkulu, and DKI Jakarta. Then, Gorontalo, Jambi, West Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and Lampung. Then, Maluku, Papua, West Papua, Riau, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, and North Sumatra.
BMKG Deputy for Public Meteorology Andri Ramdhani assessed that the provision of extreme weather information systems based on integrated disaster impacts needs to be rushed, so that the potential for damage and losses can be minimized optimally. He said the extreme weather information system based on integrated disaster impact does not only contain weather forecast conditions, but also the risk map caused can be explained in detail.
