Police Call There Are No Criminal Elements Regarding Viral Yoga Classes 'Orgasm'
JAKARTA - Investigators at the Gianyar Police, Bali did not find a criminal element in the case which went viral and involved an Australian foreign national named Andrew Irvine Barnes. Andrew allegedly provided the venue for the Tantric Full Body Energy Orgasm Retreat yoga event.
Andrew and his female partner Xia Lee opened a yoga class called Tantric Full Body Energy Orgasm Retreat and uploaded it through social media by charging participants US $ 600, causing it to go viral.
"We confirm to the villa that it is true that there will be parties carrying out activities, namely yoga, because there are also mattresses and so on. But the villa said one day before the event was canceled by the person who ordered it on the grounds of the situation," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Gianyar Police, AKP Lusa. He confirmed that this Australian citizen uploaded an advertisement related to the event on social media. However, received unfavorable responses or comments. So that not for long, the post was deleted by the person concerned.
He said, related to the post, it was initially suspected that there was an act of immoral violation. However, the allegations have not yet happened, the event has been canceled and the post has been deleted.
"We are checking for clarification regarding the viral post. When examined Andrew and his friends felt that they did not fit the words they uploaded, they also did not mean to say what they imagined. They also apologized because the activities they wanted to do were yoga and meditation," he explained.
He said he had not found any criminal elements, and would then coordinate with immigration regarding whether or not there were immigration violations.
"For detention it is not carried out because no criminal elements have yet been fulfilled to be detained, if for those who feel they have been disadvantaged, there is no report yet," said Lusa.
Previously, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali, Jamaruli Manihuruk, said that the Tantric Full Body Energy Orgasm Retreat event which was to be held on Saturday, March 6 to Tuesday, March 9 by Andrew had gone viral on social media.
"When our officers checked, there was no visible activity in the villa, which seemed to be closed tightly. The event charged the participants with a rate of 600 US dollars or the equivalent of around Rp. 8 million rupiah. In addition, after checking immigration documents and residence permit, Andrew stated that he is an ITAS Investor with a validity period until November 8, 2022 and his colleague Xia Lee who is in charge of event admin who is also an ITAS Investor holder.
