Middle East Conflict, Endless Feud

JAKARTA - The Middle East name is the name Britain has given to the region that stretches from Morocco to the west, to the east, to Turkey to Yemen in the north and south.

The geographical condition of the Middle East is so dominated by a vast desert that it is not possible for agriculture. However, there are also certain areas that can be used as agricultural fields such as the Nile valley, Mesopotamia (Eufrat and Tigris rivers), as well as the red and Mediterranean sea edge areas. Residents who inhabit this area vary like Arabs, Turkey, Kurdish and Persia.

Conflict is part of the cycle of power that often occurs in various regions. The more complex society is and the more influence exerted by strong countries in the world makes the country move dynamically. The Middleeast region so far seems to be inseparable from the chaotic chaotic conflict and violence that always adorns every media-media head line around the world.

The Middle East conflict is one of the endless conflicts of the region. This conflict is said to be prolonged because there is no end to resolution. The actual settlement has involved many parties, from international organizations such as the United Nations to superpower countries such as the United States and Russia. The opportunist, selfish, and pragmatic attitude of the Middle East population and even its leaders caused the conflict to seem to be allowed to continue.

However, if you look at it further, that is where the Semite religions were born, namely Islam, Christianity, Jews who taught about goodness and truth. In addition, there is also a holy place where the three religions claim, namely Jerusalem. It is ironic that the place of birth of religion that teaches peace to every people is an area that is almost rarely heard by the word peace.

Formation Of The State Of Israel

Middle Eastern Expert Yon Machmudi said the root of the Middle East dispute began with the problem of Israel's occupation of the Gaza Strip and the endless West Bank of Gaza. The dispute began in 1917, where there was a Balfour Declaration by the British government that facilitated the Zionist Federation Group from the United Kingdom and Ireland, to obtain the blood land promised from the former Ottoman Empire of Turkey during World War 1.

Balfour's name was taken from the figure of British Foreign Minister who served at the time, Arthur Balfour. This declaration was immortalized in Britain's mandate of Palestine and supported by the Nations League which was only formed in 1922. This organization is the forerunner of the United Nations (UN)

Since then, the feud between Jewish Zionist groups and local residents has become a long history. They threw out each other and killed each other until there was a 6-day war. The impact was the burning, the expulsion of residents in a number of local villages and ethnic residents, until the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) led by Yasser Arafat, and the birth of the Intifada movement. The feud continued repeatedly.

"The people who are high-ranking Hamas now are teenagers who were the perpetrators of the Intifada action at that time," said Machmudin, met by Voi at his home in Depok, Saturday, April 20.

Within 20 years, the number of Jews arriving in Palestine continues to grow. Many of them fled the persecution they experienced in Europe, particularly the holokos carried out by the Nazis in Germany and its surroundings during the Second World War.

The dispute between the Jewish and Arab communities in Palestine that never ended made Britain withdraw and Jewish leaders declared the formation of an Israeli state in May 1948.

Israel's Fear And Acknowledgment

After the Jewish community declared the formation of a state, the two clashes grew more and more frequent until finally thousands of Palestinians left their homes. And the Palestinian people called the incident Nakba or disaster. A year later, Israel managed to control half of the region and there was only a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, Palestinian refugees and their descendants live in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as in a number of countries such as Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. Furthermore, Israel issued a regulation not allowing Palestinians to return to their hometowns. Israel argued it would make Israel overwhelmed and threaten its existence as a Jewish country.

After Israel and Palestine's 1967 war, Israel still occupied the West Bank and claimed all of Jerusalem as its capital, while Palestine claimed East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state in the future. And the United States was one of the first countries to recognize Israel's recognition.

Within 45 years of 1967, Israel built hundreds of thousands of settlements in its territory. And no less than 700 thousand Jewish communities live in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The construction of the settlement was strongly opposed by the United Nations and Britain. Not only that, the United Nations and Britain consider the unilateral recognition of regional rule as one of the first violations of international law committed by Israel.

Peace That Never Created

Peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians have been held repeatedly between the 1990s and 2000s, along with the outbreak of a dispute. Negotiated peace seems likely to occur in the early days.

A number of secret talks in Norway became Oslo's peace process, which was symbolized by a ceremony in the courtyard of the White House in 1993 led by US President Bill Clinton. In a historic moment, Palestine acknowledged that the Israeli and Israeli countries recognize its arch-enemy, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), as the only representative of the people in Palestine. So, why is Israel's war now against Iran? According to the chairman of the Middle East and Islamic Study Prodi of the University of Indonesia, Iran is indeed a country that has long opposed the formation of an Israeli state and intervened in America as its allies. The feud between Iran and America has repeatedly occurred the last case of an Iranian embargo by America due to Iran's nuclear program and the case of killing of Iranian nuclear experts which was allegedly masterminded by Mossad and America.
