Those Who Want To Become Civil Servants, MenPANRB Tjahjo Kumolo Open 1.3 Million Vacancies

JAKARTA - The Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo said the government is preparing a scheme for the recruitment of 1.3 million employees for 2021.

"The numbers we have never done before," said Tjahjo in his statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 6.

Tjahjo explained that the plan was divided for the acceptance of State Civil Servants (ASN) and Teachers with the Government Employees with Work Agreement (PPPK) scheme. Regarding the admission schedule, Kemenpan RB is working together with the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).

Tjahjo said the government was trying to formulate procedures, strengthen policy support, identify various risks and other necessary preparations. Including trying the online selection system with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN).

"The procurement of ASN and PPPK Teachers is an effort related to HR development priorities, especially ASN HR, namely by recruiting ASN employees," he said.

Minister Tjahjo added that every year the government does recruitment. But in 2020, the government canceled the selection of ASN employees because of the COVID-19 pandemic conditions. However, the cancellation provided an opportunity for the government to properly plan the selection to be held in 2021.

"Regarding the selection in 2021, I need to emphasize in relation to the procurement of one million PPPK teachers, Kemenpan RB supports the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Culture to recruit government employees with PPPK which is carried out to solve the shortage of teachers in all regions which have been filled by honorary staff," said Tjahjo.

Tjahjo said the applicants who can fill the vacancies are honorary staff who have been registered in the Education Basic Data (Dapodik) of the Ministry of Education and Culture. In addition, teachers who are former category two honorary staff and graduates of PPG or Teacher Professional Education who do not teach can also fill the PPPK teacher vacancies.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture provides facilities for these honorary staff to improve their ability to face selection tests, and provides three test opportunities," said Tjahjo.
