After Foreign Tourists Died, Spot Photos In Ijen Crater Closed
BANYUWANGI - Spot Sunrise of Java at the Ijen Crater Nature Tourism Park (TWA), Banyuwangi Regency, East Java was closed and given a police line. This was done after the death of a tourist from China because he fell into a ravine.
Now tourists who climb to the Ijen Crater TWA are prohibited from carrying out activities on the Sunrise of Java Spot until an undetermined time limit. This is because the location is considered dangerous for tourists and is still being evaluated by the Ijen Crater TWA manager.
It is known that the police line was given the day after the fall of a female foreign tourist.
The Licin Police have also identified the scene. The fragile condition of the tree and dry wood was the main cause of the unfortunate incident.
Therefore, temporary closure of tourism activities on the hiking trails of the Ijen Crater TWA area from April 28 to April 30, 2024.
"In order to increase public education on the highlands, starting from May 1, 2024, it will be opened for natural tourism, climbing, and research activities for the public," explained Head of Region III of the East Java Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA), Purwantono, Tuesday 23 April.
