Kediri Dhoho Airport, Which Was Built By PT Gudang Garam Owned By The Conglomerate Susilo Wonowidjojo's , Is Targeted To Be Completed In December 2021
JAKARTA - Cigarette producer, PT Gudang Garam Tbk through its subsidiary, PT Surya Dhoho Investama (SDHI) is in the process of building Dhoho Kediri Airport. PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) as the airport development partner is targeting completion of construction in December 2021.
The target was drawn up following in March 2020, AP I and Gudang Garam belonging to the conglomerate Susilo Wonowidjojo signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the cooperation plan for the management of Dhoho Kediri Airport.
"The Dhoho Kediri Airport construction project is a commitment and support for airport operator partners whose construction is targeted to be completed by December 2021", said PT Angkasa Pura I President Director Faik Fahmi in a written statement some time ago, quoted by VOI, Friday, March 5.
Faik continued his plan as part of a multi-airport system in the East Java region to serve passenger traffic growth. Dhoho Airport can also be developed into an air cargo center in the East Java region.
Dhoho Kediri Airport is planned to become one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) and become an alternative gateway to East Java besides Juanda Airport in Surabaya.
In 2019, it was noted that Juanda Airport had served more than 16.6 million passengers with aircraft traffic reaching 129,000 aircraft movements and cargo reaching 88.4 million kilograms. In the initial stage, Dhoho Kediri Airport is planned to be built with an area of 13,558 square meters from a total area of 321 hectares of airport land which can have a capacity of 1.5 million - 2.5 million passengers per year.
With a runway dimension of 3,300 meters x 45 meters, Dhoho Airport can accommodate 8 aircraft movements during rush hour and can be an alternative when there are obstacles at airports in East Java.
Airport development in Kediri is very potential because it can be an alternative flight after Juanda Airport in East Java. So along with this development and potential, the airport in Kediri can be an alternative airport that will become the second gateway in the East Java region, especially opening up areas to the Tulung Agung, Blitar, Ponorogo, Trenggalek, Madiun, Magetan, and others areas.
Previously, the Director of PT Gudang Garam Tbk, Istata T Siddharta, said that to build an airport in Kediri, the company coded as GGRM shares must provide funds of up to IDR 9 trillion. Funding for the airport construction comes from the company's internal cash.
"The investment value was IDR1-10 trillion. But now we can see IDR6 trillion-Rp9 trillion", said Istata.
