The Constitutional Court Judge EMPHASIZED That It Is Not A Garbage Basketball, Solve All Election Problems
JAKARTA - Deputy Constitutional Court, Saldi Isra emphasized that the Constitutional Court (MK) is not a garbage basket that is used as a tool to solve the problem of the Umun Election (Pemilu).
The statement was made when reading out public considerations in response to the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin camp.
"If it is still positioned to assess other things, it is tantamount to placing the Court as a 'drainable waste' to solve all problems related to elections in Indonesia," said Saldi in the Court Building, Monday, April 22.
It is said, in Article 24C paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution, the Constitutional Court does have the authority not only to try the numbers or the results of the recapitulation of vote counting.
But based on that regulation, other matters related to the stages of the election can also be handled.
"We can also assess other matters related to the stages of the election regarding the stipulation of valid votes from the election results," said Saldi.

However, the constitutional judge considered it inappropriate for the Constitutional Court to be all the foundation. Especially solving all problems that occurred during political contestation.
"As an institution that has the constitutional authority to resolve disputes over the results of general elections as stipulated in Article 24C paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution, it is actually inappropriate and inappropriate if the Court is used as the focus to resolve all problems that occur during the implementation of the election stages," said Saldi.
