KPK Investigate Flow Of Funds To DPR Member Ihsan Yunus In Corruption In The Procurement Of PPE Of The Ministry Of Health

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that Member of Commission IV DPR RI Ihsan Yunus was involved in allegations of corruption in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). He is said to have managed a company that worked on projects during the last COVID-19 pandemic.

"Companies that carry out PPE procurement are suspected of causing state financial losses, so far around Rp. 625 billion. Then it is suspected that there is data that we obtained the name of this witness (Ihsan Yunus, ed)," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted Monday, April 22.

Ihsan is known to have been examined as a witness on Thursday, April 18. However, Ali did not want to specify the data held by investigators.

This information will be disclosed when the suspects are tried. "Of course the full information will be opened in the trial process," he said.

"Because until today the process of investigating the case is still ongoing," Ali continued.

Previously reported, the KPK named a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) for the period 2020-2022 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number is more than one person but his identity has not been disclosed.

From the results of the temporary investigation, the value of state losses caused reached hundreds of billions of rupiah. The project value is IDR 3.03 trillion for the procurement of 5 million PPE packages.

In this case, five people have been prevented from leaving the country. The anti-corruption commission did not specify them, but they are Budi Badhi as the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Health, Hermansyah who is an ASN from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB, Satrio Wibowo and Ahmad Taufik as private sector, and A. Isdar Yusuf as advocates.
