One Bus Passenger Reportedly Died As A Result Of Being Hit By A Train
MARTAPURA - A passenger on the Men's Sulung BE 7037 FU bus was reported to have died in the tragedy of a train accident at a gateless crossing on Jalan Agricultural, Kota Baru Village, East OKU Regency on Sunday at 13.00 WIB.
According to information in the field, the victim was identified as Nazarudin Asrop, a resident of BK 16, Belitang Mulya District, East OKU Regency and nine other passengers were injured and immediately rushed to the nearest hospital.
"The bus suffered severe damage in the middle after being hit by the Rajabasa Express Train from Tanjungkarang, Lampung Province to Palembang until it was dragged 100 meters," said Anton, a volunteer who was guarding the railroad crossing at the crime scene in Martapura, East OKU Regency.

He explained that the tragic incident began when the Putra Sulung Bus carrying 10 passengers stopped right in the middle of the crossing and was thought to have turned off the engine.
Shortly before the incident, he heard the sound of a train horn and shouted at the bus driver to get ahead immediately, however, collisions were inevitable.
"It happened very quickly and the collision was unavoidable. In fact, there were about five passengers bouncing out of the bus," he explained.
