Boyz II Men's Memories Of Michael Jackson's Advice 29 Years Ago
JAKARTA - Boyz II Men member, Wakya Morris revealed one of the advice the late Michael Jackson had given in 1995.
The boy II Men tenor singer said that the singer, known by his nickname as King of Pop, reminded Boyz II Men to know their value when they achieve great success in the music industry.
'Know your value' is the best advice we've ever received, and it's from Michael Jackson,' said Wakya Morris during a recent interview with PEOPLE.
Recalling the conversation 29 years ago, Wanya called herself with Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Michael McCary to talk to Michael Jackson backstage for hours after they appeared at an event titled HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I.
"After we performed, we went to the back room where Mike was placed," recalled Wakya.
He said, 'Listen, the industry is crazy and they will look at it. They will take you up and down, and you won't even be able to understand what happened until you sit back and be able to see it and see the benefits of the hard work that has been done. And that's when you want to realize that you guys have done the right thing,' said Wanya.
But the only way to do that is to know your own value and never take values that are less than what you feel are worthy of.
Currently, Boyz II Men is known as one of the best R&B vocal groups ever in the United States music industry.
