Puan Maharani Burns The Spirit Of HIPMI To Build Indonesia's Economy, 10 Youths Are Enough To Shake The World
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani invited the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) to work together to make 2021 the year of Indonesia's economic recovery.
"HIPMI needs to be part of the solution for Indonesia's economic progress. I see HIPMI in a strategic position to play a role in recovery and advancing our economy," said Puan Maharani when he was the keynote speaker at the XVII HIPMI Rakernas, Friday, March 5.
According to him, the young HIPMI cadres are the face of Indonesia's future which also holds the key to Indonesia's economy.
Puan reminded the country's youth to continue to maintain an optimistic attitude based on hard work and prudence.
"Bung Karno said give me a thousand parents so I moved Mount Semeru, but just give me 10 young men and I will shake the world," said Puan.
Furthermore, Puan alluded to the economic slowdown during the pandemic. He revealed that there were three major impacts of COVID-19 on the Indonesian economy. First, household consumption or purchasing power, which is the backbone of 60 percent of the economy, fell quite deeply.
Second, prolonged uncertainty so that investment also weakens and has implications for stalling and layoffs.
Third, the continued weakness of the world economy has caused commodity prices to fall and Indonesia's exports to several countries have also stalled
"In the midst of the economic challenges we face, I am sure that there will be a window of opportunity that can be used to produce a solution in the form of a strategic transformation of the Indonesian economy," said the former Coordinating Minister for PMK.
