In Front Of Young Entrepreneurs, Jokowi: If The Investment Target Is Not Achieved, You Will Go After Pak Bahlil, Not To Me
JAKARTA - The government continues to boost investment to enter the country. Investment is considered the key to economic revival. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) claimed to call the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia every day to ask about developments.
President Jokowi said that one thing that was always asked of Bahlil was how many trillions of investment had flowed into Indonesia.
"Every day I call, how many percent can it be this year? How many trillions can be increased? Who has entered? Where has it reached? The target has been achieved or not? Every day," he said at the opening of the 2021 HIPMI National Meeting online, Friday, March 5.
Furthermore, Jokowi said that fortunately Bahlil was quite a calm and enthusiastic person. So that the Head of BKPM does not give up even though Jokowi keeps contacting him every day to monitor investment developments.
"If it's not (calm), drop already. Because every day we are being chased, yes, we have to continue to chase in a situation like this," he said.
According to Jokowi, with investment there will be many open business opportunities that can open up jobs and provide welfare to the community.
Therefore, Jokowi ordered Bahlil to become an intermediary so that domestic and foreign investors could partner with regional entrepreneurs, including those who are members of Hipmi.
"I have ordered this. So later if it does not happen, you will go after Pak Bahlil. Not to me again. I am asking, are there investors entering this province, with whom to cooperate, I ask. Yes, okay ?," he said. .
