JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain successfully turned things around by destroying Barcelona 4-1 in the second match of the Champions League at the Stadio Olimpico Lluis Companys, Wednesday, April 17, 224 in the morning WIB. PSG also advanced to the semifinals after winning in the match marked by the red card of coach Xavi Hernandez.
PSG showed it was appropriate to go to the semifinals and become a favorite to win. After losing 3-2 in the first match at home, PSG went berserk in an away match.
Appearing in front of Barca supporters, MRSeka actually played brilliantly. Even though he was left behind, PSG did not waver. Luis Enrique's team was able to get up and beat Barca through four goals.
The success of winning 4-1 made PSG 6-4 on aggregate ahead. They also advanced to the semifinals to face Borussia Dortmund who eliminated Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile, Barca's defeat could not be separated from the red card of defender Ronald Araujo in the 32nd minute. Araujo's blunder made Barca play with 10 people so that they experienced difficulties in reducing the game against PSG.
Barca's defeat and Atletico made Spain's representatives fall. Previously there were three Spanish La Liga teams that qualified for the quarter-finals.
This opens up opportunities for the creation of the finals of fellow La Liga teams. But now only Real Madrid are facing Manchester City, Thursday, April 18, 224 in the morning WIB.
In that duel, Barca made an impressive start. They continued to play offensively even though PSG also tried to put pressure on Barca's defense.
Moreover, Enrique promised his team will play with high pressure so that they are very aggressive in facing the hosts.
Only Barca managed to take the lead first. The forward Raphinha broke into PSG's goal again when he received assists from Lamine Yamal in the 12th minute.
This is the third time Raphinha has beaten goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in two consecutive matches. Previously, in the first match, the Brazilian national team player broke into PSG's goal twice.
Winning 1-0, Barca are actually still trying to keep the game going by pressing PSG. Only the situation changed after Araujo got a red card in the 29th minute.
Because of this, he committed a serious offense against Bradley Barcola. Not only that, the Uruguayan national team defender then protested strongly against the referee which led to a red card.
Losing a player, especially in the back sector, makes Barca work hard to maintain their lead. The reason is, they are facing a bumpy attack by Kylian Mbappe et al.
Even the Pau Cubarsi defender who managed to kill Mbappe in the first match was finally overwhelmed.
Although it had made the captain of the French national team not move throughout the first half, Cubarsi had to work hard with Jules Kunde and Joao Concelo to face PSG attacks.
Their efforts ultimately failed after Ousmane Dembele broke the deadlock for PSG. The former Barca depa player successfully beat goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen after welcoming a pass from Barcola d minutes 40.
The score changed to 1-1. The match was even fiercer. It's just that PSG is already superior in possession of the ball.
This makes the ball more at the feet of PSG players. Only no more goals were created so that the draw closed the first half.
In the second half, PSG completely dominated the game. They attacked the Barca defense. PSG's efforts were not in vain.
Midfielder Vitinha finally brought PSG back the situation after scoring from outside the penalty box in the 54th minute. Starting from Dembele's corner, but he did not immediately kick the ball in front of goal.
Dembele gave Achraf Hakimi a short pass which then sent an assist to Vitinha which was later converted into a goal. The score changed to 2-1 for Barca.
In a position behind, Barca again suffered a disaster. Coach Xavi Hernandez had to leave the field after receiving a red card in the 56th minute.
He was expelled after issuing inappropriate words to the referee. Xavi himself protested the free kick for PSG after midfielder Frenkie De Jong brought down Vitinha
Barca is getting depressed. Moreover, there is no longer Xavi on the sidelines. PSG took advantage of the situation. Their attack paid off with a penalty in the 61st minute.
Penalti diberikan setelah Cancelo menutuh Dembele di area terlarang. Wasit menunjuk titik putih.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen can actually read the direction of Mbappe's shot. Only the ball kept sliding fast without being reached by the German goalkeeper.
PSG lead 3-1 and definitely qualify for the semifinals. But they kept on attacking and Mbappe finally scored his second goal in the 89th minute.
This time, Mbappe took advantage of a wild ball after his shot was saved by goalkeepers. But Ter Stegen failed to secure the ball which Mbappe struck.
The score changed to 4-1. Barca had no hope of catching a goal. PSG also closed the match with the advantage of the score.
