Wanting To Return To Indonesia, Indonesian Citizens Report Qatar Airways Delay Allegedly Related To Iran's Attack On Israel

JAKARTA - An Indonesian citizen who plans to travel back to Indonesia must have his flight delayed.

It is suspected that the airline he will be traveling on, Qatar Airways, avoided the area around the location of the 'battle' of the drones and missiles fired by Iran. Indonesian citizens plan to fly from England.

The Indonesian citizen provided information that his flight schedule was delayed by 1.5 hours.

"Now it's 1.5 hours delay because it's waiting for the plane to arrive, which is just a longer duration of the new route," he said, Sunday, April 14.

It was previously reported that Indonesian citizens (WNI) who plan to travel by flight routes through air areas or airport transits in Middle Eastern countries are advised to anticipate flight schedule disruptions, following the latest Iran-Israeli conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also asked Indonesian citizens to immediately contact their respective airlines to obtain the latest information regarding their flights.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs again appealed to all Indonesian citizens planning to travel to Iran and Israel to postpone the travel plan," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement on Sunday.

The escalation of security situations in the Middle East has caused several countries in the region to impose restrictions or closures of their airspace for commercial and other flights.

A number of countries such as Jordan, Israel, Iraq and Lebanon have temporarily suspended flights through their airspace after Iran announced the launch of drones and ballistic missiles towards Israel.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives in the Middle East continue to closely monitor the escalation that occurred after an Israeli attack on Iran's diplomatic facilities in Damascus, and Iran's retaliatory attacks on Israel.

"If you are facing an emergency situation, Indonesian citizens can immediately contact the nearest Indonesian representative hotline number or access the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Safe Travel mobile application," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement.
