After Hammersonic And Dream Theater, The One Ok Rock Concert Was Also Postponed
JAKARTA - The outbreak of COVID-19 or the increasingly rampant corona virus made One Ok Rock postpone their Japanese and Asian shows, including in Indonesia. Originally, this rock band from Japan will hold a concert in Jakarta on May 30
Through uploads on his official Instagram account, One Ok Rock confirmed the cancellation. Here's the full sound:
"After taking various considerations due to the current situation involving the corona virus (COVID-19), we regret to announce the postponement of the Tour.
We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were looking forward to the Tour but because we consider the safety of our fans and all related parties involved to be the most important and after many discussions with the organizers, we sadly reached this decision, "wrote One Ok Rock.
This concert is part of the promotional tour of the album Eye of the Storm which was released in February 2019. Besides Indonesia, One Ok Rock will also perform in other countries including Thailand in February and Australia in March.
The band, fronted by Takahiro Moriuchi (vocals), Toru Yamashita (guitar), Ryota Kohama (bass), and Tomoya Kanki (drums) previously entertained their fans in North America, Europe, and Japan during the tour.
The plan to attend Jakarta is their second solo concert in Indonesia after the first in 2013. In May last year, Takahiro et al also performed as the opening band for Ed Sheeran's concert in the capital.
Formed in 2005, One Ok Rock has released nine studio albums. They won the Classic Rock Roll of Honor Awards for Eastern Breakthrough Male Band in 2016 and Rock Sound Best Live performance from British music magazines in 2018.
