PKS Faction Appreciates The Attitude Of The Indonesian Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Regarding Relations With Israel

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Jazuli Juwaini, supports the firmness of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) which will not normalize Indonesia's relations with Israel amid existing pressures.

"The appreciation of the Foreign Minister (Retno Marsudi) who firmly denies the issue of normalization of relations with Israel. The PKS faction continues to support and oversee the attitude that is a reflection of our constitution," Jazuli said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

He hopes that the firmness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the unanimous and compact attitude of other levels of government, especially the ministry of economics because the issue of normalization is associated with Indonesia's planned joining the Organization for Economic and Development Cooperation (OECD).

"There is no reason whatsoever to make Indonesia normalize relations in any form with Israeli zionists who actually carry out colonialism and genocide against the Palestinian people," said Jazuli.

The Vice President of the World Muslim Parliament (IIFP) also said that the rejection of Israel for Indonesia is a constitutional mandate that expressly states the task and responsibility to abolish all forms of colonialism above the world.

"Israel clearly colonizes the Palestinian people, seizes their land, and slaughters civilians: children, women, and parents. Normalization of relations with the invaders clearly injures the constitutional mandate, injures the collective feelings of the Indonesian people, so that the law is forbidden," said Jazuli.

On the other hand, he said, Indonesia stands upright in defending the rights of the Palestinian people until it gains independence. "Until whenever Indonesia is pro Palestine and anti-Israeli colonialists," added Jazuli.

Previously, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the issue that Indonesia would normalize diplomatic relations with Israel so that it could be accepted as a member of OECD.
