Winter Aespa Undergoes Recovery Period After Pneumotoraks Operation
JAKARTA - Winter, member of the K-pop group Aespa has just undergone surgery due to the pneumotoraks suffered. The news has been confirmed by his agency, SM Entertainment.
The agency said that the idol with the real name Kim Min Jeong was undergoing a postoperative recovery period.
"Winter is recovering after a recent pneumotoraks operation," SM Entertainment said, citing Newsen, Friday, April 12.
Pneumotoraks itself is a term used to describe the condition of the lungs that collapse or deflate.
Meanwhile, the surgery decision was taken based on the doctor who treated Winter, given the illness he suffered was prone to recurrence in the future.
"Because this disease is prone to recurrence, this decision was made as a precaution based on the opinion of medical staff after sufficient discussions," the agency said.
With Winter's current condition, Aespa's schedule will be made taking the idol's recovery as the main focus.

In addition, the group consisting of Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning will undergo a world tour titled '2024 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK: Parallel Line' which will begin in June.
The tour will begin at the Seoul Indoor Stadium Jamsil on 29 and 30 June. Then, the tour will continue to Fukuoka, Nagoya, Saitama, Singapore, and Osaka in July. Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, Jakarta, and Sydney in August. Melbourne, Macau, and Bangkok in September.
